What we believe
AFFIRMATIONS
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit; the holy Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
BAPTISM
Baptism is the sacrament through which we are united to Jesus Christ and given part in Christ’s ministry of reconciliation. Baptism is the visible sign of an invisible event. It shows the death of self and the rising to new life based on obedience and praise. It shows the pouring out of the Holy Spirit on those whom God has chosen. In Baptism, God works in us the power of forgiveness, and the renewal of the Spirit and the knowledge of the call to be God’s people always.
DISCIPLESHIP
We commit to be faithful disciples of Jesus Christ, obeying his word and showing his love. Seeking the fellowship of the church wherever we may be and supporting the ministry and mission of the church as God calls us.
